Dancers burn up like time. I remember very well how Richard von der Schulenberg suddenly announced his retirement from the Band Die Sterne in the mid-zero's, closed his own pop-cabaret program and decided from one day to the next to go out into the world as Rvds to produce sophisticated electronic music on the bland paths of Newcleus, Juan Atkins or Carl Craig:

An 808 for a Hallelujah!
You'll never make it, I arrogantly shouted at him at the time.

"Well, let him be," Mense Reents of Die Vögel and Egoexpress-Fame wisely said afterwards…

Years later, Rvds is undoubtedly one of Hamburg's top minimal/house producers, always with that certain something, with the courage to go italo-disco-ness, great breaks, great percussion in general and the always right blue note at the right time.

Lord Rüftata110 couldn't wait to finally release an Rvds Maxi on Pudel Produkte - the label with the funky little paw…
