The holy grail of Hamburg's art of brewing is the song "An de Eck steiht'n Jung mit'n Tüdelband," which they have been singing here in Hamburg in versions for 91 years.
It's about a boy who stands on the corner with a sandwich, falls down and steals apples. He can do everything because he comes from Hamburg. A girl with an egg basket does it similarly in the second verse.
16 years ago, the pseudo-Frenchman Jacques Palminger and his pseudo-Italian Viktor Marek shuffled the old folk tune into the dub Olympus, from which he has not come down since, because this version, named "Tüdeldub", makes every invention superfluous, both in lyrics and in music. Really any, even brown toilet paper.
Meanwhile, a buttercream of international remixers (Shackleton, Lawrence, Hey-O-Hansen, quadratschulz, Peter Presto) has long since decided to molt the "Tüdeldub" individually. 6 new spring dresses and the original now digital.
